    Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh. It’s a mega city and over 1 crore people live in this city. Dhaka became first capital in 1610. There are some nice places to visit. Here are some:
     
    Ahsan Manzil
         Ahsan Manzil is one of the most significant architectural monuments of Bangladesh. Ahsan Manzil was the presidential palace of the then Dhaka Nawab Family. This splendid building is situated at Kumartoli on the banks of the Buriganga River in the capital city of Bangladesh. Ahsan Manzil’s construction was started in 1859 and was completed in 1872. This nice and historical building was constructed according to Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture. Now it has been used as a national museum.

    In1888, Ahsan Manzil got damgaged due a a great tornado in Dhaka city. Later, an English engineer from Kolkata and suggested after examining the palace that except the “Rangmahal”, all parts of the building need to be reconstructed. Khwaja Abdul Gani and his son Ahsanullah decided to reconstruct the palace. Both of the building was reconstructed during that time with a new by the local engineer Gobinda Chandra Roy.Fees to visit Ahsan Manzil.
    Location: Kumartuli,Islampur,Dhaka
    How to go: Ahsan Manzil in not far from Dhaka airport .You can visit Ahsan Manzil by rickshaw and or by public transport with a minimum cost of 30 BDT from Motijheel in Dhaka. It’s just few minutes of distance apart from the Jagannath University or Old Dhaka.
    Where to stay: There are plenty of hotels and restaurants near the site. You stay any hotels situated within the city as this place not outside the Dhaka city.

    Eid Holidays
    ·         Ahsan Manzil will remain closed for visitors during Eid day and the previous day of Eid. It will remain open as usual from the next day of Eid day.
    Govt. Holidays
    ·         Ahsan Manzil will remain closed during any govt. holiday.
    Ramadan Timing
    ·         Ahsan Manzil will be closed at 04.00 PM during the holy month of Ramadan.
